Fire Corps is the key component of Citizen Corps that supports and supplements resource-constrained fire and EMS departments through the use of volunteers for non-emergency activities. Fire Corps provides tools and resources to local fire and EMS departments nationwide to help them implement a volunteer program and promote it in their community. The National Volunteer Fire Council administers Fire Corps in partnership with the Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Fire Administration, and an advisory committee made up of national fire service organizations.
